Welcome to the Historical Preservation Society of the Illinois Chapter of the Black Panther Party.

We are happy to announce the successful landmarking initiative started in 2020. On December 21, 2024, the Keeper of the Register signed the Thematic Listing for the Illinois Chapter of the Black Panther Party.

Then, on December 29, the Church of the Epiphany, affectionately known as the People’s Church, was the first property added to the listing. The People’s Church was already a landmark, and we successfully added the Illinois Chapter’s history to the listing.

Thank you for your years of support in making this possible!
