Demolished Panther Headquarters to Receive Historical Marker at Former Site

Dedication Ceremony Set for Saturday, July 26, 2025

Dear Friends,

As we announced last week, the City of Chicago has approved our first historical marker installation at 2350 W. Madison, the former location of the Illinois Chapter of the Black Panther Party headquarters. We will hold a dedication ceremony at 2350 W. Madison on Saturday, July 26, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Please join us! Registration is free!

The remaining 11 historical markers in Chicago should be installed by September, following the permit process. We plan to host bus tours to the marker sites and a celebration in October, during Black Panther Party History Month, to commemorate the Black Panther Party's significant role in our community.

Funds are still needed to cover the costs of the permit applications and installation of the remaining markers. We need your help. Thanks to a generous matching grant from the Joseph and Bessie Feinberg Foundation, you can double the impact of your donation with a gift today! Their support, like yours, is a testament to the importance of this history.

Every dollar you donate, dollar for dollar, will be matched by the Feinberg Foundation up to $5,000. Use the form below to contribute now. Your contribution will make the heritage trail a reality. Thanks to your support, we are almost there.
